Column matching links the structure of your files. But what about the values inside those columns?
A common scenario: your supplier sends product categories like CAMERA_OTHER_ACCESSORIES, HOME_ORGANIZERS_AND_STORAGE, or CABLE — but your target format expects a completely different nomenclature. Translating these manually, row by row, would take hours.
WeTransform handles this automatically with AI value matching.
🤖 Fix errors with AI — how it works
When a column contains values that don't match your target format's accepted list, it shows up with a red header in Finalize and an error count.
Click the red column header, then select "Fix errors with AI" (marked as Suggested).
WeTransform's AI will automatically propose a mapping between the values in your file and the valid values in your target format — pair by pair. You can then:
✅ Do nothing, which by default accepts all suggestions
✏️ Edit individual pairs — override a suggestion if the AI got one wrong
➕ Add missing pairs — for values the AI didn't match
🤖 The AI understands context. It doesn't just look for the closest string — it understands that "CAMERA_OTHER_ACCESSORIES" maps to "Cameras & Accessories" and "HOME_ORGANIZERS_AND_STORAGE" maps to "Home & Storage", even when the wording is completely different.
AI matching uses credits.
⚙️ Other ways to fix value errors
AI matching is the fastest option, but not the only one. If you prefer more control, click "Fix errors in bulk" instead:
Set a default value — replace all invalid values with a single fixed value
Map values manually — build your correspondence table pair by pair yourself
Write a rule — if you have specific business logic (e.g. "if the category contains 'AXE', map to 'Tools'"), open the Rules editor and describe your logic in plain language
🔁 Mappings are saved automatically
Once you've set up a value mapping, it's saved as part of your transformation configuration. The next time the same file comes in, all mappings are applied automatically — no repeat work.
💡 Real-world example — e-commerce: You receive product files from 10 different suppliers, each with their own category nomenclature. Once you've mapped each supplier's categories to your target format once, WeTransform remembers. Future files from the same supplier are processed automatically.
