How to fix errors in Finalize

Red rows in Finalize? Here are all the ways to fix errors — with AI, in bulk, with a rule, or manually — and when to use each.

You're in Finalize. Some rows are red. Now what?

WeTransform makes error correction as fast as possible — no need to download the file, fix it in Excel, and re-upload. Everything happens right here, in the interface.

🔍 Reading the Finalize screen

At the top of the screen, a red banner shows the total number of rows in error. Each column that contains at least one error has a red header with a "Fix errors" button.

Valid rows appear normally. Error rows are highlighted — you can see exactly which cells are problematic and why.

🤖 Fix errors with AI — the fastest option

Click a red column header, then select "Fix errors with AI" (marked as Suggested). The AI analyzes all the invalid values and proposes a mapping to your accepted list — pair by pair.

Review the suggestions, adjust any that are wrong, then apply. All affected rows are corrected at once.

🤖 Best for: columns with a list of valid values where the incoming values use different naming — supplier categories, status codes, product types. The AI understands the intent even when names are completely different.

⚙️ Fix errors in bulk

Click a red column header, then select "Fix errors in bulk". Options include:

  • Set a default value — replace all invalid values with one fixed value

  • Map values manually — build a correspondence table yourself, pair by pair

  • Tolerate errors — if the errors are actually acceptable for your use case, you can choose to ignore them and submit anyway

💡 Best for: simple cases where one default value covers all errors, or when you want full manual control over the mapping.

✏️ Fix with a rule

For complex corrections that involve business logic, click "Rules" to open the rules editor directly from Finalize. Describe what you want in plain language — for example "if the category contains 'AXE', replace with 'Tools'" — and WeTransform generates the rule.

The rule applies immediately and the errors update in real time.

💡 Best for: conditional corrections, cross-column logic, or any case where a simple default value isn't enough.

🖊️ Quick fix — edit a cell directly

For one-off corrections on a single cell, you can click directly on any cell in the table and edit its value manually. This is a "quick fix" — it's saved but won't be replayed automatically on future files.

⚠️ Quick fixes are not reusable. They apply only to the current file. If you find yourself making the same manual edits repeatedly, convert them into a rule instead — it will apply automatically on every future transformation.

📤 When all errors are resolved

Once the error count reaches zero (or you've chosen to tolerate the remaining ones), click the Submit button to finalize your transformation.
