You've created your target format. Now it's time to load a file and see WeTransform do its thing. The whole process — from upload to clean output — takes just a few minutes.
📂 Step 1 — Upload your source file
Click "New transformation" from your dashboard, then select the target format you want to transform your file into. This is the format you configured in the previous step.
Then upload your source file. WeTransform accepts CSV, Excel, XML, JSON, PDF, TXT, and images.
📄 Got a PDF or a messy Excel file? No problem. WeTransform will automatically route you through Autoclean — our AI-powered normalization step that structures your file before the transformation begins. You can also trigger Autoclean manually on any Excel file with merged cells or multiple tables on the same sheet.
🔗 Step 2 — Match your columns
Once your file is uploaded, WeTransform's AI automatically maps your source columns to your target format columns. This is the Match step.
In most cases, the AI gets it right. But you can review and adjust any match manually before moving on — pick a column for a different target, unlink a wrong match, or add a missing one.
🤖 The AI maps columns by meaning, not just by name. "Prix HT" and "price_excl_tax" will be matched correctly, even if the names look nothing alike.
⚙️ Step 3 — Add rules (optional)
Before or after reviewing your matches, you can add transformation rules — instructions that tell WeTransform how to clean, convert, or enrich your data.
Rules can be added at any point in the workflow. You can skip this step on your first run and come back to it later.
✅ Step 4 — Review in Finalize
This is where you see the result of your transformation. WeTransform displays your data in a table — valid rows in white, rows with errors highlighted in red.
At the top of the screen, you'll see the total number of errors. Any column containing errors will have a red header with a "Fix error" button.
Click "Fix error" to see the suggested solutions for that column — WeTransform proposes options based on the type of constraint that was violated. Choose a solution and it applies to all affected rows at once.
🤖 AI-powered corrections. Among the suggested fixes, some are AI-generated — for example, automatically mapping invalid values to your accepted list. You can also write a correction rule directly in plain language.
📤 Step 5 — Submit
Once you're happy with the result, click "Submit". WeTransform confirms that your file has been processed and lets you download the transformed file to your desktop.
⚡ Using WeTransform integrated into your platform? The transformed file is delivered directly to your system — no download needed. You can view the full history of submitted files (source + transformed) at any time in your dashboard.
