You want to transform your content, or you want your customers to transform their content. Chances are you're gonna need rules.
Rules can be used in different places
Default template rules:
When you want that your rules execute all the time, irrespective of the files you send, chances are you need a template rule.
Those rules will always be triggered at the end of all workflows when a given template is used, taking precedence over all other rules.

Solution rules:
When you want a rule to execute when you encounter an error on the Review page, and you or your customer chooses a particular solution, that's a "solution rule."
Those rules are included in the error handling of a column. They can be configured here in each column error handling view (click on image to enlarge) 👇
User rules:
All other rules that the user can implement in his or her workflow, when transforming files.
Those rules are attached to a workflow and are edited by you or your customer when transforming a file.
